Drawing as Stimming project has created many resources for the project that support co-production and learning. A common thread across the resources is opening up the body to sensory engagement and in doing so validating neurodivergent highly sensitised bodies. As ever the work legitimises non-verbal communication and works with a ‘more than visual’ approach. For instance, ‘Building tests’ produced for Rebecca Beinart at Primary, Nottingham with Sian Morrell encourages learning disabled, neurodivergent and non-verbal young people to conduct fieldwork in the Primary building. The fieldwork consists of exploratory games, testing the body out in conversation with the building and encourages situated cognition. The resulting cards validate sensory learning and create social stories to support others navigating the building.
